About Course

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Senior management is being asked to approve AI initiatives without a clear basis for judging them. This program provides that basis: what current AI genuinely does, where it fits an organisation’s value chain, how to evaluate build, buy and adopt options under public procurement rules, and how to sequence a rollout that survives budget cycles and staff transfers.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

  • Chief Engineers and General Managers
  • Project Directors
  • Directors and heads of wing
  • Senior management with approval authority over technology spend

DURATION AND FORMAT

1 day (7 contact hours), executive format

PREREQUISITE

None. AI for Smart Office is helpful but not required.

COURSE OUTLINE

  1. Capability, not hype — what current AI reliably does and where it fails
  2. Mapping AI to the organisation’s value chain: where the return actually is
  3. Build, buy or adopt — realistic options for a public-sector body
  4. Cost, procurement and vendor evaluation under public procurement rules
  5. Sequencing a rollout that survives budget cycles and officer transfers
  6. Measuring return in time saved, quality improved and risk reduced

WHAT YOU WILL BE ABLE TO DO

  • Evaluate an AI proposal on its merits rather than its marketing
  • Identify the two or three functions in your wing where AI would pay for itself
  • Ask vendors the questions that separate capability from claims
  • Set measurable adoption targets that can be reported upward

YOU LEAVE WITH

A one-page AI opportunity assessment for the participant’s own wing or project.
