About Course

Summary

Advanced AI Applications is the follow-on to AI Foundations for participants who already have the basics and want to go further. It moves past the single prompt-and-response cycle into structured, multi-step work: chaining tasks together, working from several source documents at once, and building reusable templates instead of starting from a blank prompt every time.

Who Should Attend

  • Staff who have completed AI Foundations, or have equivalent hands-on experience with prompting and verification
  • Anyone who has hit the ceiling of one-off prompts and wants a repeatable, higher-value way of working
  • Teams that draft, research or report using several source documents at a time

Course Description

Where AI Foundations builds the mental model and a first working method, Advanced AI Applications assumes that method is already in place and takes it further. The course covers chaining several steps into one workflow, working accurately from multiple documents or data sources at once, and building a personal library of reusable prompt templates rather than reconstructing a good prompt from scratch each time.

A significant part of the day is spent on verification for multi-step work specifically because when several AI-assisted steps feed into one another, an early error compounds rather than staying contained to a single output, and the checking method from AI Foundations has to be adapted for that.

Participants also look at where light integrations saved instructions, connected tools, structured templates reduce the setup cost of doing this well every time, without moving into full workflow automation, which is covered in the separate AI Automation course.

Duration and Format

  • Length: One full day, instructor-led
  • Format: Hands-on throughout. A laptop and access to an approved AI tool are required
  • Pace: Builds through the day from two-step chains to a complete multi-source workflow built on the participant’s own material

Pre-Requisite

Participants should:

  • Have completed AI Foundations, or be comfortable structuring a prompt with context, task, format and constraints, and verifying the output
  • Bring a real task that currently involves working from more than one document or data source
  • Have a laptop with access to an approved AI tool

Course Outline

     01: Beyond the single prompt
02: Working across multiple documents and sources
03: Building reusable templates and personal playbooks
04: Combining AI with your existing tools
05: Advanced verification for multi-step work

What You Will Be Able to Do

  • Design a multi-step AI workflow deliberately, rather than by trial and error
  • Synthesise accurately from several source documents without losing or blending details
  • Build and reuse prompt templates instead of starting from scratch each time
  • Verify multi-step output at each handoff point, where errors are most likely to compound
  • Judge where a light tool integration helps, and where it becomes automation that needs its own governance

You Leave With

  • A personal library of two or three reusable prompt templates built during the course
  • A completed multi-step workflow, built and verified on your own real material

A verification checklist adapted for multi-step, multi-source work
