About Course
Summary
AI for Business is a practical, instructor-led course that walks through AI use across the functions of a typical organisation marketing and sales, customer service and operations, finance and HR rather than treating AI as one generic skill. Participants leave with two or three concrete use cases for their own function, a completed example built on real work, and a simple business case for taking it further.
Who Should Attend
- Business unit leads and staff in marketing, sales, customer service, operations, finance or HR who want to know where AI fits their own function specifically
- Teams who have tried AI tools informally and want a structured way to identify which uses are actually worth pursuing
- Managers who need a first business case for AI investment in their department, built on evidence rather than enthusiasm
This is a business-first course, not a technical one. Staff who want to go deeper into prompting technique or automation should pair it with AI Foundations or Advanced AI Applications.
Course Description
The course is organised around a simple question, asked function by function: where does AI genuinely save time here, and where does it just look impressive? Each session takes a business function, works through two or three realistic scenarios drawn from that function’s daily work, and has participants apply the method directly to a task of their own.
Rather than a single generic exercise, breakout groups work on material relevant to their own department a marketing brief, a customer response, a finance narrative, an HR policy note so what is practised in the room matches what participants will actually do on Monday.
The course closes by having each participant, or department group, build a one-page business case: the task, the current cost of doing it manually, the expected saving, and what would need to be true to prove it in a short pilot.
Duration and Format
- Length: One full day, delivered as a single group session with function-based breakouts
- Format: Instructor-led, hands-on. A laptop is needed for the breakout exercises
- Structure: A shared opening and closing session, with breakout blocks organised by business function so each group works on material relevant to them
Pre-Requisite
There is no formal prerequisite. Participants should:
- Have basic familiarity with using an AI chat tool no technical background needed
- Bring one or two real, redacted examples of work from their own function to use in the exercises
- Know roughly which business function’s material they will be working from during the breakout sessions
