About Course
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Instrumentation readings, hydrology series and load data usually sit in spreadsheets that only one person in the office fully understands. This course teaches engineers to clean, analyse, chart and interpret that data with AI assistance, so that analysis is not blocked on a single individual or on programming skills nobody has time to acquire.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
- Instrumentation and monitoring engineers
- Planning, hydrology and design staff
- Grid and load analysis teams
- Anyone who maintains a technical spreadsheet others depend on
DURATION AND FORMAT
2 days (14 contact hours), laptop required
PREREQUISITE
AI for Smart Office; working knowledge of Excel
COURSE OUTLINE
- Getting messy engineering data into an analysable shape
- Descriptive analysis and trend detection with AI assistance in Excel
- Charting for two audiences — the technical reviewer and the decision-maker
- Anomaly and outlier detection in instrumentation and monitoring series
- Writing the interpretation, not just producing the chart
- Reproducibility — documenting how a number was arrived at
WHAT YOU WILL BE ABLE TO DO
- Clean and structure a messy dataset without manual re-entry
- Produce trend analysis and charts from your own monitoring data
- Detect anomalies that manual review would miss
- Write an interpretation that a non-specialist can act on
YOU LEAVE WITH
A cleaned dataset, chart set and written interpretation produced from the participant’s own data.
